Fitch Ratings Assigns BB International Credit Rating with Stable Outlook to SEC Aktobe
International rating agency Fitch Ratings has assigned JSC Social-Entrepreneurial Corporation Aktobe (SEC Aktobe) Long-Term Foreign- and Local-Currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) of “BB” with a Stable Outlook. The agency has also assigned the company a National Long-Term Rating of “A+(kaz)” with a Stable Outlook.
The assignment of an international credit rating marks an important milestone in the development of SEC Aktobe as a regional development institution and reflects the corporation’s financial sustainability, institutional significance, and contribution to the socio-economic development of Aktobe Region.
According to Fitch Ratings, SEC Aktobe plays a key role in implementing regional development initiatives and serves as one of the leading development institutions in the region. The corporation is actively involved in supporting entrepreneurship, developing the agro-industrial sector, ensuring food security, managing industrial infrastructure, and attracting investment.
Fitch highlighted the strong integration of SEC Aktobe into the regional governance framework and noted the corporation’s strategic importance for Aktobe Region. The agency assessed the likelihood of support from the regional authorities as “Very Likely,” reflecting the close relationship between the corporation and the regional government.
The report also emphasizes that SEC Aktobe’s strategic objectives are aligned with the priorities of the region’s socio-economic development. Through its investment and development projects, the corporation contributes to economic diversification, business growth, infrastructure development, and the improvement of living standards.
The newly assigned ratings enhance SEC Aktobe’s ability to attract financing from domestic and international financial institutions, strengthen partnerships with investors, and expand opportunities for implementing investment, infrastructure, and socially significant projects.
SEC Aktobe has consistently pursued the development of modern financing instruments. Previously, the corporation became the first social-entrepreneurial corporation in Kazakhstan to issue social bonds on the Astana International Exchange (AIX), attracting additional investment to support regional development initiatives.
